This foundation is funded by the public specifically to protect animals and support disabled individuals who rely on medically necessary dogs. The 13-year-old senior dog requires immediate medical maintenance and special dietary food. Additionally, the incoming puppy being integrated for accessibility and future service dog certification was completely denied enrollment. Terminating a 13-year-old senior animal from a community-funded safety net is unacceptable.

I am forced to survive. After the Hope For Paws "Better Together" program abruptly and unlawfully terminated my 13-year-old senior dog who has been faithfully in the program since 2021 they also completely denied my new puppy from being enrolled.

Section 2c (Copayment Agreement): Reinstates this directly above my signature, reading, "I agree to pay the required copayment of 20% of the total invoice..."

Section 5 (Notice of Changes): Outlines rules for changes in income or contact info, but contains zero provisions giving the Paws for Hope Foundation the right to unilaterally alter, adjust, or increase my copay percentage.

Despite this legally binding agreement, I found out today that I have been charged 33% instead of the agreed upon 20%. There is no clause, no addendum, and no warning in my contract that allows them to hike up my copay.

The Truth is Out: Building My Team and Standing Firm

Lately, I have been pouring my entire soul into advocating for my dogs. At the end of the day, that is exactly what this comes down to, my animals, their care, and their well-being. I refuse to let anyone misrepresent the truth, take advantage of us, or use my situation. Whatever has happened behind closed doors is out in the wide open now. I am not a liar, I never will be, and unlike them, I always back up everything I say with hard evidence and proof.

Right now, I am actively building my legal team. I am looking for the right lawyer and am also getting a legal advocate involved to ensure we have a powerful, complete team. I have done this in the past, and I know it is the best way to handle this. The hard work is already moving forward, and I trust the universe will bring the right professional across my path to deal with this matter completely.

The Paws for Hope Animal Foundation and the Better Together program claim online they support disabled people, but what they have done to me is the exact opposite. They have my doctor's note. They know my doctor explicitly stated that my dog is medically necessary for me. They know that cutting off her medical care risks pushing me straight into the ER and the hospital because of how heavily this stress affects my condition. Yet, they have no care in the world about how they harm people's lives or affects them.

Again actions speak louder then words and no actions speak louder.

They need to seriously educate themselves. They need a Human Resource coordinator to teach them about mental health and disabilities like fibromyalgia, complex PTSD, and severe OCD. Right now, this entire situation has caused my fibromyalgia to flare up so severely that my vocal cords are strained and I can barely even talk. It is completely obvious they are stating lies, like claiming I got medical care for free when everything is documented, just to trigger me, provoke me, and try to get me to react out of character because they know I have mental health challenges.

Executive Director Kathy Powelson used the exact opportunity when Dr. Llewellyn was away for three weeks to push this termination through. She is a deeply mean person who speaks to people with zero dignity or respect, completely on a power trip for the last year. But it is not just her. There are others who contributed to my 13-year-old senior girl to losing her medical care while pretending they love her. I have made sure every single one of those people has been called out. I am not leaving a single person out, and I am not hiding or denying anything for anybody.

Despite the exhaustion, the raspy voice, and the physical toll, the door is wide open now. I am still here, still standing, and building the team to get the justice my dogs deserve.

Not one single word from the lawyer not one single word from the organization about the vouchers and about them charging me 33% instead of 20% like it states in my contract just the numerous breaches and then on the termination June 2025 saying that I had a warning which I got threatened by Executive Director Kathy Powelson because I was in pain and said that going to the clinic for 9 months straight every week is too exhausting on me at the time I thought I had sciatic nerve pain but it was actually fibromyalgia pain and this is all documented I have all this all documented in an email and then the February 25th 2025 have no idea what they're talking about and then stating that July 14th I asked for a review why the hell would I ask for a review about a blog post termination you can't terminate somebody for something they do outside of the scope of the program it's just like you Executive Director Kathy Powelson there's a photo of you standing with somebody with wine a glass of wine and you're supposed to be working and you're drinking alcohol interesting you want to talk about what people do outside of the scope of the program well why don't we talk about that trust me there's lots of things that I know more than you think I do and I'm telling you right now I'm not going to give up I'm not going to stop and if you think I'm going to I'm not this is going to go to court this is going to eventually you know have to go in front of a judge this is going to eventually have to have lawyers involved and everything else I mean you guys already have your lawyer your lawyer doesn't seem to like to do her job and doesn't like to respond to people just like you guys don't she's just as bad as you guys are and you know what I'm saying my truth and I'm saying the documented on here that's why soon as I knew that you know Dr Llewellyn was going to be away for 3 weeks I was like oh God here we go Executive Director Kathy Powelson she's going to take the opportunity to terminate me and what I tried to have a conversation with her she was yelling at me raising her voice at me and you know that's why you know I turned to my blog and I turn to my blog and trying to find a way to get them out of there and push them out of the program and you know what it's not about you it's not about me it's about the animals that suffer the consequences of your actions and your choices and your decisions like you know this is a foundation that is supposed to be founded on animals and keeping animals you know with their with their owners and pets with their owners you know anybody can go on your website and read that like you know and you say you do all these things and everything else but it's all a bunch of b******* you guys just try to make it sound good and make it sound like you guys do all these things and you guys don't you lie you lied to get donations and eventually people will catch on to that and I'm not scared of your lawyer I'm not scared of you guys I'm not scared of any of you at the end of the day I believe that karma is real what comes around goes around and you get what you give and eventually things will come back around and I am a strong believer that you know the universe puts people in your life for a reason and the universe puts you in situations for a reason and there's a reason why you know this is happening and I mean this has been happening for a year but obviously it's escalated to the point where you know there's literally people stepping down and people not wanting being wanting to be a part of your show people and harm to animals you don't realize like I said the fact that you put on people and the effect that you can put on an animal and I know that you know you're obsessed with my dog and you always have been and maybe you're doing this in a way that you know I'll surrender my dog or something you'll never get my dog I'll tell you that much right now it's never going to happen you have been completely disgusting in the way that you act disgusting in the way that you treat people I have the emails I don't have anything deleted from 2021 all the way to now I don't have anything deleted everything is all documented so you know you're up against someone that has all the documentation you don't cuz you guys have all these people as you say trying to get enrolled and they can't and you have all these emails and stuff so you've got all my emails and everything all lost and all these other emails so you'll never be able to find the emails that I have you'll never be able to find the evidence and proof that I have trust me I know that for a fact and you know that works in my favor and that's going to come in my favor and I mean it already has a few times I've already shown screenshots and I've already posted stuff so you know all you have to do is take a read of my blog and go through everything from beginning till now and just see how bad that it's escalated and is going to continue to escalate it's not going to get any better it's going to get worse before it gets better because what you guys are doing is stripping somebody from the community where the community is donating to that person you can't take that away from that person and it's not even the person it's the dog you know it's not for me the money isn't for me like you know the enrollment guys's website $100 here $150 here and other $50 here another $100 here $250 here $100 here $50 here like literally every f****** like I don't know like every couple like every 30 seconds every minute like this is constantly going on and you're going to act like you don't have money and then you got on your Facebook all these big old checks and everything else like you guys are not hurting for money you don't have issues with money you guys did in the past yes but i g i wonder why I mean you guys make all these stories and put up all these stories and make it look like you guys are doing all these positive things but behind closed doors the way that you treat people in their animals like my dog like I said is medically necessary and then my puppy is going to be certified as a service dog is not like you know I have two pets these are working animals these are animals that I cannot live with you guys have my doctor's note my doctor's note even States that I can end up in the ER maybe I should post that actually both of my doctors know showing that you know without my dog you know I could end up in the ER and they and you guys know that and you guys could care less you guys person I just you know started in the program like I know the contract I you know know that you guys have done things you guys are not supposed to do don't even have a human resource coordinator the person that's causing all the conflict you want me to talk to that person to resolve the conflict you don't go to the problem to resolve the problem make that make sense but you know what I think this is good enough for now and I am going to continue to document what goes on it's only you know 7:00 a.m. almost 7:30 and you know it's another day and I will continue to fight I will continue to advocate for my dog I will continue to do everything I can in my power for her and my puppy and you know I'm the type of person where if I have to hold back on my puppy just because you know this whole situation is going on then that's what I have to do and you know I've already spoken to the person with the puppy and if I have to inquire a different puppy for a different time than that's what I'll have to do and that's what I will do because I'm a responsible person I'm not going to bring in a puppy into a situation where all of this stuff is going on right now my main focus is my senior Reclaiming My Voice: No Longer Silenced

As you can see with the Tynehead review, I actually had to post it a second time. They somehow managed to get my original review deleted, so I stepped up and reposted it. I am putting these here because I am finally able to speak up. I am finally able to write reviews, speak the truth, and not have to hold things in or bottle things up anymore. For a really, really long time, having to hold all of this in and being constantly threatened was severely affecting my mental health.

None of this is fabricated. None of this is made up. None of this is lies. This is all the absolute truth.

For years, I was told I had to be quiet, and I was threatened that if I didn’t stay quiet, I would be kicked out of the program. My dog's medical care was directly used as a threat against me. It feels so incredibly good to actually be able to speak my truth now and not be silenced anymore. It feels empowering to finally have my voice back and to be able to tell people my truths.

To be honest, I already saw this coming over the past year. I knew that Kathy Powelson, the Executive Director, was going to find a way to get me out of the program one way or another. If you check my previous blog posts, I actually anticipated this exact moment. I wrote before that I could feel it coming. I knew that with Dr. Llewellyn being gone on holidays for three weeks, she was going to take that exact opportunity, jump on it, and say, "Yep, this is my opportunity right here to get her kicked out of the program."

If Dr. Llewellyn was still the President of the Board of Directors, I don't think we would be in this situation at all. But he removed himself from the drama, the stress, and the anxiety because he just wanted to focus on the animals, exactly like he said. Do you really think an animal lover like him would want to do this? Come on, that man is the only one who actually, truly cares about the animals.

It is just so unfortunate that while he is still a board member of the Paws for Hope Better Together program, his hands are tied because of the program. People like him don’t come by very often. He was just like my previous vet who passed away very caring, very loving. But it’s unfortunate that people are controlled by certain individuals and have to abide by certain rules.

It is what it is. There’s not much you can really do about that part; you just have to go on with life. I wish things didn’t end up the way that they are, but it is going to be incredibly empowering to finally talk. Whether I decide to go the civil tribunal route or the full court route so that it is a completely documented public record, I am finally going to sit in front of them and tell them the absolute truth of what has been going on behind closed doors.

Before I get into the facts of the situation, let me make something abundantly clear, especially to the legal counsel representing Hope for paws animal foundation and Better Together program who may be taking screenshots of this page.

This blog is my personal space. I use it for cognitive behavioral techniques to manage my complex PTSD, severe OCD, and fibromyalgia. What I write is entirely out of the scope of the Better Together program, whether this blog is public or private. It doesn't make a difference. It is an exercise of my freedom of speech, and I deal exclusively in the truth. If anyone wants to try and submit my personal coping mechanisms as evidence in my contract dispute, be my guest. The Civil Resolution Tribunal is there to rule on a breach of a legally binding contract, not to police my freedom of speech or what I do in my private life outside of the scope of the program.

Now on the facts.

If you have been following my situation with the Paws for Hope Foundation and the Better Together program, you know how I have been dealing with blatant breaches. Not just one breach, not just two, not just three, not just four, numerous breaches of my enrollment agreement. Today, the situation escalated, and it speaks volumes about how this organization operates behind closed doors.

My contract clearly states I was responsible for a 20% copay. Instead, I go to check my last voucher that I had gotten for food, and I see on the corner it said 33% copay.

Despite having undeniable documentary evidence of this breach and numerous breaches of contract, I decided to take the high road. I sent a formal settlement offer to their legal counsel. It was a genuine opportunity to resolve the monetary overcharges and the wrongful terminations out of court. I laid out clear, reasonable terms and gave them a strict 24 hour deadline to respond.

Their deadline came and went at 4:51 PM. I sent the email yesterday at 4:51 PM, and they had until 4:51 PM today, and zero response.

Instead of taking accountability, negotiating, or even acknowledging the documented proof of their breaches, Paws for Hope Foundation and their legal counsel chose complete silence. Paws for Hope Foundation and the Paws for Hope Foundation Better Together program once again chose to ignore a resolution and force the issue to continue. Again, like I said, this has been going on for a little over a year now, but there have been other things that have gone on for the last four years, almost five years that I have been in the program from 2021 to 2026.

When an organization is presented with black and white evidence that they overcharged a client and broke their own contract, their response tells you exactly who they are and their character. They do not want to resolve the issue. They want to avoid accountability, and the fact that they stole money from me has me completely shocked. I am a person on disability, and I already struggle paying 20% I still struggle to pay.

Since they refused a good faith settlement, my next step is formally filing a claim with the Civil Resolution Tribunal. The public deserves to know how the Paws for Hope Foundation Better Together program truly treats the people they claim to support and help. And I will not stop speaking the truth until the facts are laid bare.

And the more I dig and the more I look into things, the more I find. The more breaches, the more lies, the more stealing, the more neglect, the more threats, the more gaslighting, the more manipulation, and the list just goes on. It just shows I am sorry, but I have to be honest, very narcissistic traits. And if they are treating me this way, I truly believe that they are treating other people this way. And I truly believe that there are a lot of other things that are going on behind closed doors that are going to come to light.

Formal Update Regarding My Dispute with Hope for paws animal foundation

Yesterday July 26/2026 at 4:51 p.m., I delivered a formal Without Prejudice settlement offer to legal counsel for Hope for paws animal foundation and better together program concerning my dispute with the hope for paws foundation Better Together Program. The purpose of that correspondence was to provide an opportunity to resolve this matter without the need for litigation. A 24-hour deadline was provided for a written response, expiring at 4:51 p.m. today July 27th/2026.

As of the time of this publication, I have not received a response.

From the outset, I have made every reasonable effort to address this matter professionally, respectfully, and in good faith. Rather than immediately commencing legal proceedings, I chose to extend an opportunity to resolve the dispute through settlement. In my view, litigation should be a last resort where a fair and reasonable resolution cannot be achieved.

It remains my position that there have been repeated breaches of my contractual agreement with the Better Together Program, including charges that exceeded the copayment set out in my enrollment agreement. I have documented the relevant communications, payment records, program documentation, and other supporting evidence. Those materials have also been discussed throughout my blog and will be relied upon, where appropriate, in any legal proceedings.

Should no response be received by the expiry of the 24-hour deadline, I intend to proceed with filing a claim through the Civil Resolution Tribunal. I have also sought assistance from a pro bono lawyer and a legal advocate and will continue to pursue the legal remedies available to me.

This matter has had a significant impact on my health and well-being. I live with complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), fibromyalgia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), asthma, and other medical conditions. The ongoing stress associated with this dispute has affected my health, and its impact continues to be documented by my treating physician.

My objective has always been to achieve a fair and lawful resolution. I remain willing to resolve this dispute through appropriate legal and professional channels. However, if no meaningful response is received, I will proceed with the appropriate legal process and allow the evidence to speak for itself.

I will continue to provide factual updates regarding this matter as it progresses.

I am deeply concerned about the impact that continued legal proceedings will have on my health. Living with complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), fibromyalgia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), asthma, and other significant medical conditions, the stress associated with this dispute has already had a substantial effect on my physical and psychological well-being. If this matter proceeds to the Civil Resolution Tribunal because it cannot be resolved through settlement, the additional time, stress, and demands of litigation will likely further exacerbate my existing medical conditions. These impacts will be documented with ny treating physician and may form part of the evidence presented in support of my claims. It remains my sincere preference to resolve this matter fairly, professionally, and without the need for further legal proceedings. Unfortunately, if a reasonable resolution cannot be achieved, I will have no alternative but to pursue the legal remedies available to me.

Upon reviewing my Better Together agreement, the contract explicitly sets my co-payment at 20% across multiple sections and contains zero clauses granting Paws for Hope the right to unilaterally alter or increase that rate. Yet, I recently discovered they have been charging me 33%, and I am now forced to comb through all of my past vouchers, receipts, and bank statements to audit the math and figure out exactly how long this overcharging has been happening.

And I thought from you're termination papers you stated : You will note that Dr. Llewellyn is not responding to your correspondence personally, not withstanding his role as President of the Board. Dr. Llewellyn is also the treating veterinarian responsible for Zoe's medical care, and your correspondence raises both the termination dispute and matters concerning that ongoing medical relationship together. To avoid any real or perceived conflict of interest, the Board has asked me, as Vice President, to act as the point of contact for this matter and to respond on the Board's behalf.

Turned out Dr Llewellyn thinks I can afford his clinic prices paying 80% copay for a 13-year-old senior dog and a puppy and the clinic covers 20% that's what hope for paws foundation and hope for paws better together program pays is 80% and I pay 20% but I recently found out they've been charging me 33% not 20% which is another breach on our contract what a surprise. Not.

Absolutely not, Dr Llewellyn we'll be back on the 16th, but I am going to go ahead and send this email to the board members and Dr Llewellyn which is my 13-year-old seniors, dogs veterinarian, he is the one that took on her care and took all the responsibility of her. So i'm gonna go and head and share the response with him as well Because i'm not waiting until the 20th .I no longer want to communicate with Kathy Powelson I will be civil with her. But I am going to ask that somebody else take on my case. There is no human resource coordinator as I've expressed before. So, you know, someone else needs to step in.And take that position until a human coordinator is put in place.Because kathy Powelson has become

Very controlling, very manipulative, and the fact that she terminated me. It isn't actually me that she's terminated. She's terminated a 13-year-old. Senior's dog medical care and for her to do that is just like she's been doing since 2024 enough is enough. This needs to stop, you know, you know, there comes a point where, you know, there's a pattern of behavior and there's a pattern of behavior that, shows the person's intentions you know by their choices, actions and decisions they are becoming very unhealthy and hope for paws better together program environment is bring affected And she talks about harassing conduct, but meanwhile she's using my blog that is outside of the scope of the program to terminate a 13-year-old senior dog. I mean, I'll let that speak for itself. But here is my response to the board members. And obviously in response to the email that I received from Kathy Powelson telling me I have to wait until the 20th, which is completely unacceptable.

Dear Board Directors, and Dr. Shawn Llewellyn,

I've attached the email response I received from the Executive Director, Kathy Powelson, in which she attempts to defer this matter until her return on July 20th which I feel is a stall tactic I am addressing this to all of you, including Dr. Shawn Llewellyn, to formally state that this delay is unacceptable. By attempting to move this conversation away from you the Board members into a separate, private email , Kathy Powelson is engaging in isolation tactics that prevent Board members from exercising their necessary oversight. I will not accept a delay until the 20th for a matter that is both urgent and contractually invalid. Formal Notice of Dispute:

The termination dated July 6, 2026, which I received via both email and registered mail, was enacted without cause and in direct violation of the Better Together Enrollment Agreement.

The grounds cited for my termination involve actions taken entirely outside the "scope of the program." My activities on my personal blog do not constitute grounds for termination under our signed contract.

Per the program’s policies, any alleged violations of respect are to be investigated and substantiated before action is taken; this process was completely bypassed, as I received no warning, no phone call, and no human resources ( which doesn't exist )involvement prior to the delivery of these termination papers. Invasion of Privacy and Misconduct:

Kathy Powelson’s decision to monitor and extract content from my personal, private blog which is entirely outside the scope of the program to justify the termination of my senior dog’s medical care is an egregious invasion of my privacy. This is an inappropriate misuse of her position. It is clear that this action was driven by personal bias rather than any contractual failure. I am no longer willing to operate in fear or accept threats against my dog’s medical stability based on the personal feelings of Kathy Powelson. Collective Failure of the Board:

Let me be unequivocally clear: not one member of this Board has stepped up to challenge this improper termination. Not one of you has spoken out to state that this action is wrong,

This pure example the board vice president says she can't override Kathy Powelson decision you all make decisions together as Board members and Kathy Powelson makes yes alot decision but the board of directors president Dr Llewellyn makes the ultimate decision.

This is and was a termination without cause, or that it is a fundamental violation of the agreement to apply program standards to activities occurring entirely outside the scope of the program. Your collective silence in the face of this injustice is not merely passive; it is an endorsement of the conduct of Kathy Powelson.Escalation to the President and Request for Interim Oversight:

Dr. Shawn Llewellyn, as President of the Board and the individual currently responsible for Zoe’s medical care, I am escalating this matter directly to you. I expect you to contact me immediately upon your return on the 16th to resolve this. This matter requires a formal investigation into the conduct of Kathy Powelson and a total review of the management of my case. I am profoundly disappointed in every member of this Board for allowing this situation to escalate since July 6th without intervention.I have reviewed the professional backgrounds of every member of this Board. Given the absence of a Human Resource Coordinator and the irreparable breakdown in the working relationship between Kathy Powelson and myself, it is imperative that the Board intervenes. Dr. Shawn Llewellyn, I am requesting that you personally appoint a member of the Board to serve as an interim Human Resource coordinator to point of contact until a permanent coordinator is in place and find someone best suited to provide the strict rule enforcement and compliance oversight required here. I have attempted to remain civil and work with Kathy Powelson, but it is clearly her pattern of behavior actions and choices prove otherwise and that she has utilized your absence to act in a manner that is professionally and ethically indefensible. This situation requires someone who will look objectively at the contract and recognize that procedural rules were violated. It is not acceptable for the Board to remain silent while these transgressions occur; I expect immediate action and professional, objective oversight from a director who understands how to audit a failure in organizational policy and not stall the situation any longer then it already has the way that im being treated and them on top of it zoe my 13 year old senior dog's medical care is being put on hold ive been trying to arrange to get her blood work done like Dr Llewellyn wanted this summer plus with a new puppy on the way we need to discuss vaccinations and risks Dr Llewellyn I left you a message june 25th 2026 was staff. The day before you were supposed to leave for three weeks. In regards to this matter and I did not get a phone call back from you. Nothing, no response whatsoever. So I hope that when you return on the 17th, that we can have a discussion in regards to that matter. And then also, what will be happening moving forward.
