Formal Notice of Dispute and Breach of Contract

The second termination paperwork I received is fundamentally flawed, relying on a fabricated timeline that contradicts reality. Specifically, the Board cites dates that are blatant factual errors; the alleged incident you are attempting to weaponize actually took place on November 25, 2024, a matter that was already fully resolved privately between my veterinarian and me long ago. Additionally, you have misrepresented the June 1, 2025 discussion, which was a vital conversation regarding the physical and financial impact of mandatory weekly vet visits on my health, not a disciplinary matter Katelynn Denny you were present for this conversation

By falsifying the context of these interactions, you are in direct violation of the professional standards mandated by the hope for paws better together programs Agreement. Furthermore, this entire process is a breach of our agreement because Paws for Hope better together program fails to provide a Human Support Coordinator as required. The absence of this role leaves no objective party to handle disputes, which is why these false allegations and errors have persisted without correction.

Your paperwork relies heavily on loaded, subjective labels such as disrespectful, harassing, and inappropriate conduct. These are empty buzzwords used to mask the fact that you have no concrete evidence of any policy violation. When you accuse me of harassment, you fail to provide the most basic details: the exact time, the specific location, the names of the individuals involved, or a single verbatim quote. You cannot simply attach these labels to manufacture a disciplinary history. Instead, you are nitpicking at random dates to build a narrative of hostility that simply does not exist. Your focus is not on animal welfare; it is on finding a reason to justify an unethical termination through administrative gaslighting.

Paws for Hope's website states that you are unstoppable optimists working to ensure that no pet gets left behind, and that you envision communities that embrace all pets as family, ensuring they are loved, free from harm. You explicitly claim to serve vulnerable pet families across BC facing crisis because of disability and operate under a one health mindset.

These are beautiful, compassionate statements, yet the reality of your actions is the exact opposite. How can you claim to be guided by a Code of Ethics while using fabricated disciplinary timelines to strip a disabled client of necessary medical support? You claim to fill the gaps in animal assistance, but you are creating gaps by withholding the exact care that the community donates to provide. The community donates to support individuals in my demographic, yet you are arbitrarily and unjustly denying me access to these funded resources. You are actively working against the interests of a senior dog and her owner, entirely ignoring your own public mission.

You state on your website that you envision communities where pets are loved and free from harm. Yet, your actions are actively causing harm. It is incredibly harmful to abandon a disabled person who suffers from severe fibromyalgia, severe complex PTSD, severe OCD, and other serious personal health conditions. By unjustly denying program resources, you are not just breaking a contract; you are directly causing harm to my 13 year old senior dog and my puppy. Depriving these two dogs of the necessary medical care they are entitled to goes entirely against your public promise to keep animals free from harm and to support disabled individuals.

Katelynn Denny, it is completely unacceptable that you have ignored my direct communications proving that the timeline and dates in your documents are fabricated. Your interference in my established, positive medical relationship with my veterinarian is entirely inappropriate. Your assumption of authority as Vice President in this matter is proving to be actively harmful to vulnerable clients. Issuing a second termination letter based on falsified dates after your first attempt failed because I know and strictly abide by this contract demonstrates a dangerous lack of oversight and accountability.

I am a problem solver, not someone who creates conflict. I acquired my puppy to proactively resolve logistical challenges and ensure my continued independence. I have numerous references who can attest to my character, as well as a beautiful, ongoing relationship with my veterinarian who sits on your Board. The fact that I can maintain a normal, respectful relationship with him while you target me clearly exposes an institutional bias.

This bias stems directly from Kathy Powelson. it is a known fact that your behavior, disrespect, and unprofessionalism have driven dedicated staff members away from this program. You create the exact toxic environment you project onto others, causing good people to step down because they see the harsh reality behind your public facade.

Right now, compassionate people are on your website donating their hard earned money, completely unaware of how you are treating a disabled client and a 13 year old senior dog. It is a good thing my blog is public, because my community deserves to see that their donations are being unlawfully withheld from the disabled individuals they intend to support.

Katelynn Denny, this is my final notice. I know it is the weekend, but if I do not receive a satisfactory response from you by Monday morning, I will be taking formal legal action. I have already contacted a pro bono lawyer to fight this blatant breach of contract. You are the ones violating the agreement by fabricating allegations to orchestrate a bad faith, discriminatory exclusion from this program. My demands remain unchanged: immediately reinstate my 13 year old senior dog's medical care and approve my puppy's enrollment. If you refuse, I will continue to use my platform to expose these practices and ensure the community knows exactly how their resources are being mismanaged.
